Friday night May 2, 2025, at around 9pm eastern time, we officially received word that Rancho Alegre would be denied the $10,000 Challenge America grant that we were offered to support this year's Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival.
Thank you all for donating through Amplify Austin! Thanks to your generosity, we ended up at $1950! Your donation will go directly to our programs like the Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival (April 25-27), our dances at Kyle Area Senior Zone, Rancho Alegre Records, our interviews, advocacy for Conjunto music, and more!
We hope you join us at our next event and we invite you to learn more about us by looking through our interviews and checking out our podcast.
We are excited announce the lineup for this year's Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival! Scheduled for April 25-27 here in Austin, here's what to expect:
Friday April 25: Central Machine Works, 4824 E Cesar Chavez, Austin TX
Saturday April 26, 1 to 10pm: Doris Miller Auditorium, 2300 Rosewood, Austin TX
Last year, Rancho Alegre applied for the Challenge America grant, which was offered through the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), to support the 2025 Rancho Alegre Conjunto Music Festival. We were awarded $10,000 through the program, funding for which has been frozen by President Trump since January 27, 2025. We have no updates from the NEA, and quite frankly, despite Federal judges ordering the funds' release, we do not expect this grant to ever come through.
We are looking forward to a very active Spring 2025 here at Rancho Alegre!
Highlights:
It's our 10th Anniversary and we'll be at Central Machine Works on Friday April 25 and the Doris Miller Auditorium on Saturday April 26th and Sunday April 27th.
We're one of Austin's ONLY Latine music events and definitely the longest at 3 days.
